03 – SB 719 – Revisions of 1985 School Safety Act

Require the School / Law Enforcement Partnership Program to sponsor biannual, statewide conferences to identify programs and techniques that have been effectively utilized to reduce crimes and violence in school including hate crimes, discrimination, and harassment. Require the statewide school safety cadre to provide ongoing training and technical assistance to the cadre representatives in enabling them to initiate and maintain safety programs. Delete reporting requirements to the Legislature and instead require the partnership to assess the effectiveness of these programs.
