Join us for a training on Immigrant LGBTQ+ Health Join us for a training on Immigrant LGBTQ+ Health in partnership with the Oakland LGBTQ Community Center! @oaklandlgbtqcenter

Immigrant health is LGBTQ+ health. As immigrant communities face escalating attacks on their dignity, rights, and ability to live safely and authentically, building solidarity and advancing immigrant justice is more important than ever.

This training will build knowledge and practical tools to advance immigrant justice, health equity, and LGBTQ+ inclusion across California, with a focus on Oakland and surrounding communities.

Together, we can strengthen our support for immigrant communities and advocate for policies that protect the health, dignity, and self-determination of all people, regardless of immigration status or national origin.

๐Ÿšจ URGENT: Public comment needed on proposed census ๐Ÿšจ URGENT: Public comment needed on proposed census changes!

The U.S. Census Bureau has proposed changes to how people are counted in the 2030 Census, and the public has an opportunity to weigh in.

The proposed rule would make significant changes to the Census, including:
๐Ÿ“Œ Removing questions about race and ethnicity from the questionnaire.
๐Ÿ“Œ Removing questions about sexual orientation from the census questionnaire.
๐Ÿ“Œ Changing who is included in the population count by changing the definition of โ€œusual residence,โ€ which could exclude foreign persons previously counted.

๐Ÿ“ŠCensus data helps inform funding, public health, research, schools, hospitals, emergency response, and community programs. Accurate data helps ensure that our communities are seen, understood, and counted.

๐Ÿ“ฃ Public comments are due October 13, 2026.
Your voice matters. Share your perspective and let decision-makers know why an accurate and inclusive Census count matters to your community.
