We Breathe is excited to announce the release of the updated Policy Platform, "A Call to Action: LGBTQ+ Inclusive Tobacco Control in 2026 and Beyond".
Developed in partnership with California Tobacco Control LGBTQ Regional Projects, LGBTQ+ community members, Statewide Technical Assistance Organizations, and evaluator, Just KozS, this platform reflects extensive community input gathered through surveys, consumer testing, and engagement events across California.
At a time when LGBTQ+ research, visibility, and funding face increasing challenges, this platform serves as a call to action to invest in LGBTQ+ communities, strengthen data collection, and advance equitable tobacco control policies. With limited research available on what works best to reduce tobacco use among LGBTQ+ populations, supporting LGBTQ+ organizations and ensuring our communities remain visible in public health efforts is more important than ever.
